Technical Description:

The plates are put at random (also stacked) on the supplying conveyor. A lifting device takes one plate at the time from the conveyor and puts it into a diaphragm where the plate is centred and fixed with an accuracy of 1 mm.
The back of the plate is automatically printed with a one-colour backstamp. In the system the pad takes up the ink, turns 180 ° and prints the stamp.

In the following step, the lifting device takes the plate out of the diaphragm and sets it down on a jig fixed on a vertical conveyor (simultaneously, a plate is again lifted from the supplying conveyor and put into the diaphragm).
The plate is now transported to a postioning device. With the help of a vision system, the plate is now positioned with an accuracy of 1/10 mm and than fixed on the jig by a vacuumsystem till the end of the printing process.

The printing process: The fixed plate is now transported to the first printing head (first colour).
The printing-plate with the etched image is inked by a closed ink-system. The servo-driven pad picks up the ink (image) and prints it on the plate. After 10 prints (depending on the number of colours desired), the decoration is finished. The jig stops vacuuming, the plate is lifted off the jig and put onto a conveyor which transports the plates to the following production process.
The plates are printed with thermoplastic inks. These inks need to be fired in the glaze.
Therefore the plates need to be placed in an oven (automatically or manually).
After this process, the decoration will be 100 % scratch- and dishwasher resistant.
